Description
The pilot study for the LongITools research project involves participants using a health monitoring system designed to explore the impacts of environmental interactions, lifestyle, and biological factors on health, collectively known as the Exposome.
Participants will receive a Fitbit smart band and an air quality assessment system, with a dedicated app installed on their personal phones. The study spans eight weeks, during which participants use the provided devices and app, logging in weekly. Installation is conducted by project representatives, including the setup of the air quality assessment system.
The pilot’s primary goal is to evaluate the usability and acceptability of the monitoring system through participant feedback, potentially influencing long term healthcare approaches and costs on a national and community level.
The LongITools Health Assessment System has been possible by a proactive collaboration of two key technological partners of the project consortium:
- Ab.Acus, the developer of App and WebApp
- The Barcelona University, the developer of algorithms for the cardio-metabolic risk prediction.
